Alma Jokinen Appointed JEF Finland’s University Trainee

At its meeting 7/2023, JEF Finland’s Executive Board selected Alma Jokinen, a newly graduated Bachelor of Political Science, as JEF Finland’s university trainee. Jokinen has extensive experience in a range of international organisations, advocacy groups, and positions of trust. Among other things, she is a member of Allianssi’s International Committee and an alumna of the US Embassy in Finland.

“From our very first meeting, Alma has conveyed genuine motivation to work for the causes our organisation champions. This is backed up by a long history of volunteering in international affairs. Even in a short time, Alma has shown she can take action and keep a cool head even in fast-moving situations. Alma’s analytical skills and experience bring valuable perspective to our team. On top of that, Alma is also just a great person to work with”, says JEF Finland’s President Amanda Alvesalo.

The trainee’s main duties include helping to organise JEF Finland’s various events, event marketing, and planning other content. Events during the traineeship include the Castle Seminar, the Europe Forum, the Security & Cooperation in the Nordics seminar, and the General Assembly. The trainee will also get to take part in various EU projects.

“It’s fantastic to get to work on EU issues together with such a determined and capable youth organisation. I have a huge amount to offer JEF Finland, and the knowledge and skills built up through my previous experience – from political argumentation to organising seminars – will really come into use during this traineeship”, says Jokinen.

Jokinen began her role on 24 July 2023.
