European Federalists to Become JEF Finland’s Alumni Network

JEF Finland and European Federalists are launching wide-ranging cooperation that benefits both parties. Going forward, European Federalists will serve as JEF Finland’s alumni network, which JEF Finland members can join if they wish. Especially welcome are pro-European people who have moved on from active involvement in the youth organisation.

“I’m glad we finally got this cooperation off the ground. JEF Finland and European Federalists are like-minded organisations and therefore very natural partners. It’s fantastic that, through this, our alumni can remain a firm part of the European movement and stay connected to JEF Finland, which is such a cherished formative community for so many of us. Inspired by this, I myself immediately joined European Federalists”, comments JEF Finland’s President Risto Rajala.

European Federalists is made up of an active group of people who believe that federal development would have a positive effect on the European Union’s democracy and capacity to act. The association regularly organises events and works to bring the principles of federalism into public debate while dispelling related prejudices and misunderstandings. European Federalists is part of the international Union of European Federalists (UEF), which is in turn a member of JEF Finland’s umbrella organisation, JEF Europe.

“The Finnish European movement is strong and active. I believe that through close cooperation between JEF Finland and European Federalists, we can further strengthen the voice of pro-Europeans. I invite all JEF Finland alumni to join European Federalists. We can offer a natural home for many long-time JEF Finland members who are now looking for the next step in their lives and want to stay active on European issues going forward”, concludes European Federalists’ President Verena Kaun.
