On Sunday 2 December 2018, JEF Finland’s General Assembly elected Iiris Asunmaa from Jyväskylä as the organisation’s new President. Asunmaa was elected after defeating Iida Laurila from Turku in the vote, 46-33.
”My dream is for JEF Finland to be the primary expert voice in the discussion on Europe. Over the past year our media visibility has been extensive and varied. I’ve been able to gain experience on TV, radio and in print, which has been both nerve-wracking and wonderful. In the coming year it’s time for us to shift into the next gear and, as one united front, make our perspective and our views heard loud and clear, both to the media and to political actors.” says newly elected President Iiris Asunmaa.
