JEF Finland received today’s decision on the government grant awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The organisation is pleased with the grant amount it received and thanks the ministry for its decision.
“We are, of course, delighted with this decision. The general grant makes it easier to develop the organisation at a time when strengthening young people’s EU expertise and bringing their voice forward is more important than ever amid global crises”, states JEF Finland’s President Pieta Päivänen.
In the general grant application, JEF Finland’s activities were assessed as being of high quality, with particularly high scores for the scope and accessibility of its activities and for youth participation. Eligibility for the general grant had previously been lost due to a suddenly increased requirement for local-level activity, but the number of regional branches has now also been increased from four to seven.
“We want to especially thank those who were active in previous years for developing the organisation’s work with such long-term commitment, despite financially difficult years. Without the persistent attitude and passion for the European cause shown by our hard-working activists, we would not be where we are today”, Päivänen adds in thanks.
JEF Finland will continue developing its activities so that young people across Finland can make their voices heard in EU decision-making and strengthen their own EU expertise. We also invite all current and former activists to celebrate this good news at JEF Finland’s anniversary celebration in September.
