JEF Finland Vice President Iida Laurila is taking part in Yle’s European election results night broadcast today. In the same segment, Programme Director Juha Jokela from the Finnish Institute of International Affairs is also interviewed. The interviewer is EU specialist correspondent Susanna Turunen.
Today, Sunday 26 May, is the official election day — a perfect day to go and vote. You can check your own polling station at www.aanestyspaikat.fi, and all you need to bring is a form of identification.
”The election spring culminates today. The campaign work has now been done, both by the candidates and by the European Movement’s ‘Demand the Facts’ campaign. I’m especially excited about the turnout figures, and later on, the research results on young people’s turnout,” reflects Laurila.
At the same time as the broadcast, the ice hockey World Championship final is being played, with Finland facing Canada.
The results broadcast starts at 7:30pm on the YLE 1 channel, and Iida takes part in two different discussion segments during the evening.
