JEF Finland’s 2023 Star People and Regional Organisation Have Been Selected

At JEF Finland’s General Assembly in Vaasa, the 2023 Star People and Regional Organisation were announced. This year, two Star People were selected.

The first Star Person is Pieta Päivänen, who has distinguished herself as Chair of JEF Turku and shown long-term dedication to developing the region through her work. She has drawn attention at both the national and regional level for her activity and diverse involvement. Her contribution is not limited to administrative tasks alone, but also extends to writing political statements and advancing European debate. Pieta has shown interest and motivation in promoting the European movement both in her own region and at a higher level, including by taking part in JEF Finland’s delegation to the congress in Madrid.

The second Star Person is Aapo Kallama, who has demonstrated commitment to the activities of JEF Central Finland, and whose activity has also been noted at the national level, particularly as a skilled discussant and someone who inspires others. Aapo has been committed to activities in his region, such as organising events, and is always ready to exchange thoughts and views with others. Aapo radiates genuine interest in EU affairs, which has had a positive effect on others.

JEF Turku has been selected as Regional Organisation of the Year. JEF Turku has shown activity by, among other things, organising a wide range of events in the Turku area, taking part in international campaigns, producing high-quality written content, promoting internationalism together with its international sister organisations, and maintaining a high-quality and engaging social media presence.

JEF Finland congratulates the award recipients and thanks them for their excellent work.
