JEF Finland’s Executive Board elected, at its meeting in 08/2024, Riina Lumme, Bachelor of Social Sciences, as Secretary General, and Anthony Fedorov, holder of a double master’s degree, as Project Coordinator.
Riina Lumme has previously worked as Secretary General of the Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY), as well as, among other things, as a participation specialist at the Finnish Youth Councils Association (Nuva). Lumme has also gained extensive experience in positions of trust, having served as President of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) and as a Turku city councillor. The Secretary General is responsible for JEF Finland’s association administration, financial management and operational leadership. Lumme started in the role on 5 April 2024.
“Since youth participation and the world of organisations are close to my heart, the chance to start working in the European youth movement right before the EU elections is exceptionally exciting”, says Lumme, who has just started as JEF Finland’s Secretary General.
Fedorov moves from an internship at the European Parliament to become Project Coordinator for the national youth EU elections. Fedorov, who started at JEF Finland on 27 March 2024, has previously worked at the European Youth Parliament (EYP) as a project manager, as well as a volunteer. Fedorov is delighted to be starting: “It’s exciting to get to work on such a unique and meaningful project. These elections will bring young people’s voices to the forefront!”
