At its meeting on 26 June 2019, JEF Finland’s Executive Board elected Julia Kahelin, Master of Social Sciences, as the organisation’s new Secretary General. Kahelin moves into the role from the position of Secretary General of European Youth Parliament Finland – EYP Finland ry.
“Julia’s broad expertise, know-how, and enthusiasm for the role she applied for made an impression on us. Julia has experience of working as a secretary general, as well as of developing activities and funding, which are important to us. Our growing organisation needs someone like Julia, who is not afraid to take on a challenge. With Julia’s help, JEF Finland will take yet another leap forward as a growing organisation”, enthuses JEF Finland President Iiris Asunmaa.
“JEF Finland is an influential organisation, and it’s a great opportunity to get to work and develop the organisation’s activities. JEF Finland does important work to advance the debate on Europe, and I’m really looking forward to working to strengthen this debate both in Finland and internationally!” says newly elected Secretary General Kahelin.
The Secretary General is responsible for JEF Finland’s operational activities and, when needed, acts as the supervisor of employees and interns. Kahelin takes up the position on 26 August 2019.
