President Amanda Alvesalo Steps Down from Her Position

Amanda Alvesalo, President of JEF Finland, has submitted her resignation to the executive board and will step down from her duties as of 1.7. An extraordinary National Congress will be convened to elect a new president.

Amanda Alvesalo, President of JEF Finland, will step down from her position as President of JEF Finland as of 1.7.2024 for personal reasons. Alvesalo submitted her resignation to the executive board and it was considered at the executive board meeting on 20.6.2024. The president’s duties will for the time being be transferred to the organisation’s Vice-Presidents Nea-Bettina Baarman and Nea-Maria Törmänen.

The outgoing president Alvesalo comments on her decision:
“This decision was not an easy one, and it has been made after long consideration and discussions. My decision rests on the knowledge that my Vice-Presidents will continue their excellent work and take the organisation forward. Alongside them we have a brilliant Secretary General and an executive board equipped with strong expertise. I remain committed to supporting them and the whole organisation as best I can in the role of an alumna.

I cannot put into words how much JEF Finland has given me. During my years as an active member I have been able to experience, see, learn and above all get to know many wonderful people. What I will miss most is doing things together and the people, both within the organisation and through our various collaborations. I thank all JEF Finland’s members and partners for this unforgettable journey. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the organisation!”

The executive board is grateful for the work Alvesalo has done in JEF Finland.

JEF Finland’s executive board will convene an extraordinary National Congress on 8.8.2024 to elect a new president. The meeting invitation and further information about the National Congress will be sent to the members on 25.6.2024.

President Amanda Alvesalo Resigns from Her Position

Amanda Alvesalo, President of JEF Finland, has given her resignation to the Board of JEF Finland and will step down from her position as of July 1st. Additional General Assembly will be convened to elect a new president.

Amanda Alvesalo, President of JEF Finland, will step down from her role on July 1st, 2024 for personal reasons. Alvesalo submitted her resignation to the board of JEF Finland and it was discussed at the board meeting on 20th June, 2024. The tasks of the President will be transferred to the Vice-Presidents Nea-Bettina Baarman and Nea-Maria Törmänen until further notice.

Alvesalo comments on her decision to submit resignation:
“My decision is based on the fact that I know that my Vice-Presidents will continue their excellent work and take the organisation forward. They will be supported by our excellent Secretary General and a highly competent board of JEF Finland. I remain committed to supporting them and JEF Finland as a whole as best I can in my role as an alumni.

Words cannot express how much the JEF Finland has given me. During my active years, I have had the opportunity to experience, see, learn, and above all, meet many wonderful people. What I will miss the most is working together and the people, both within the association and through various cooperation schemes. I would like to thank all the members and partners of JEF Finland for this. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the JEF Finland.”

JEF Finland will convene an additional General Assembly to elect a new President on August 8th, 2024. The invitation to the meeting and further details of the General Assembly will be sent to the members on June 25th, 2024.
