JEF Finland President Iiris Asunmaa has been invited onto Huomenta Suomi to comment on the referendum on EU membership held 25 years ago. The interview will be broadcast live on MTV3’s Huomenta Suomi on Wednesday 16 October, starting at 6:37am.
”Finland’s EU membership is a given for us young people. We are happy that previous generations voted in favour of membership. We have the opportunity to travel and study around Europe, and we are a strong part of the Western community of values,” comments Asunmaa.
Last year, JEF Finland commissioned a survey on young people’s attitudes towards the EU. According to the survey, more than 80 percent of Finnish young people consider EU membership a good thing.
”Young people have a very positive attitude towards EU membership, and almost 90 percent of young people feel that they are citizens of the European Union. Finland’s future is strongly European,” concludes Asunmaa.
