JEF Finland’s President Iiris Asunmaa will be interviewed on Huomenta Suomi on the MTV channel tomorrow, Friday. Also being interviewed today, Thursday, is JEF Finland alumna Mari Tuokko, who is organising a living-room debate for young European election candidates. The aim of the discussion is to encourage young people to vote in Sunday’s European elections.
President Asunmaa wants to encourage young people to take responsibility for their own future: ”The European elections are about what kind of future we want to live in. That’s why it’s absolutely vital that we young people vote in the European elections, since we are the ones who will live with the decisions made for the longest. If we don’t stand up for ourselves, no one else will.” JEF Finland has received extensive media coverage this spring. “It’s fantastic that JEF Finland is represented so widely in this spring’s election debates – after all, we are the primary expert voice representing young people in the discussion on Europe”, Asunmaa says happily.
