European Movement Finland’s autumn meeting has elected Risto Rajala, on JEF Finland’s proposal, as the organisation’s Vice President for 2023. The proposal was supported by the Finnish Vocational Students’ Union – SAKKI ry, the Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK ry, the National Union of University Students in Finland – SYL ry, and the Finnish Student Alliance – OSKU ry. Rajala served as JEF Finland’s President in 2021-2022.
“It’s a great honour to continue working for a better Europe at European Movement Finland, and I want to thank all our supporters and the autumn meeting for their trust! The EU can change the world, but that requires us Europeans to have influence and develop it in the direction we want. For this, we need a strong, bold, and active European movement, which we will now set out to build together”, says a delighted Risto Rajala, European Movement Finland’s Vice President for 2023.
In addition to Rajala, several JEF Finland members were elected to European Movement Finland’s board. Gurmann Saini (Green) continues as one of the organisation’s Vice Presidents, Jenna Rautionaho was elected as a board member, and Iiris Asunmaa and Juho Mölsä were elected as deputy members.
“Risto has done fantastic work at JEF Finland, and it’s great that his work in the European movement is continuing. His expertise will be put to good use in his new role”, comments Amanda Alvesalo, JEF Finland’s President for 2023.
