JEF Finland’s General Assembly, held remotely in Helsinki, 27.11.-28.11.2021
Welcome to JEF Finland’s statutory General Assembly to help shape and decide on the organisation’s activities and to elect the Executive Board’s officeholders for 2022! Due to the uncertain COVID situation, the General Assembly will be held remotely on 27.11.-28.11.2021. The physical meeting location is the Vallila Hall at Metropol Hietaniemi, Hietaniementie 14, 00100 Helsinki. It is possible to attend the General Assembly remotely; only Executive Board candidates will attend in person. The General Assembly begins on Saturday 27.11. at 12:00. See the registration instructions at the end of this invitation.
The General Assembly will address the association’s statutory matters as well as the documents guiding its activities:
- the organisation’s annual report for the previous calendar year will be reviewed
- the financial statements and the reports of the operations auditor and the auditor for the previous calendar year will be reviewed
- the financial statements will be confirmed and a decision will be made on granting discharge from liability to accountable parties
- the organisation’s budget and plan of action for the coming year will be reviewed
- the President of the Executive Board, who is also called the organisation’s President, will be elected
- two (2) Vice Presidents of the Executive Board and 5-8 other Executive Board members will be elected
- one (1) auditor and one (1) operations auditor will be elected, along with their deputies
- the model rules for member organisations will be approved
- membership fees for personal members will be set
- any submitted initiatives will be addressed
- a President, Vice Presidents and an Executive Board will be elected for JEF Finland for 2021 and
any statements from the General Assembly will be addressed - In addition to the statutory matters, the General Assembly will adopt JEF Finland’s political programme, strategy and sustainable development programme
Meeting materials will be published three weeks before the General Assembly on JEF Finland’s website (by 6.11.2021).
JEF Finland’s personal members and member organisations may submit initiatives to the General Assembly. Initiatives must be submitted by 13.11.2021 at the latest. Initiatives should be sent to the Secretary General by email ([email protected]).
Working groups will be organised on Saturday evening for the documents to be adopted at the meeting. The working groups will address the plan of action, the budget, the political programme and statement, the strategy, and the sustainable development programme. Note: working group sessions will be held remotely only, via Zoom. All meeting participants need a device (smartphone, computer or tablet) for the working group sessions. The rest of the General Assembly’s programme and a preliminary schedule will be published in week 44.
Voting rights at JEF Finland’s General Assembly
Voting rights at the association’s statutory General Assembly belong to personal members who have been accepted as JEF Finland members at least three (3) weeks before the General Assembly (6.11.2021). If you are unsure of your membership status, log in to your member account or contact the Secretary General at [email protected]. You can join as a member via the membership application form!
Registration and practical arrangements
It is only possible to attend the General Assembly remotely.
Attending the General Assembly remotely: Remote attendance is only possible for those who have registered in advance for the General Assembly. Those attending the General Assembly remotely must register by Monday 22.11.2021 at the latest. Remote attendance at the General Assembly is free of charge. Instructions on the practical arrangements and on how voting will be carried out will be sent to remote participants closer to the date of the General Assembly. The voting and election procedure will also be published on JEF Finland’s website before the General Assembly.

At the General Assembly, a President, Vice Presidents and other Executive Board members will be elected for JEF Finland for the 2022 term. Every personal member of JEF Finland is entitled to apply for these positions! You can put yourself forward for a position of trust at the meeting venue or by email: [email protected].
