Eurooppanuoret asettaa Nea-Maria Törmäsen ehdolle JEF Europen (Young European Federalists) varapuheenjohtajaksi. Kyseessä on merkittävä hetki, sillä Eurooppanuorilla on nyt ensimmäistä kertaa yli vuosikymmeneen oma puheenjohtajistoehdokas JEF Europen hallitukseen.

Nea-Maria Törmänen on toiminut Eurooppanuorten kansainvälisessä työryhmässä vuodesta 2019, liittohallituksessa vuosina 2023 ja 2024 sekä järjestöllisenä varapuheenjohtajana vuonna 2024. Molempina liittohallitusvuosinaan hän on vastannut järjestön kansainvälisestä toiminnasta. Marraskuusta 2024 alkaen Törmänen on toiminut myös JEF Europen Federal Committee -elimen co-opted-jäsenenä.

Törmäsen kampanjan poliittisia teemoja ovat ihmisoikeudet, ilmasto ja sosiaalinen oikeudenmukaisuus. Järjestön sisäisessä kehittämisessä hän painottaa erityisesti yhdenvertaisuuden edistämistä, rahoituksen vakauttamista ja strategista järjestökehittämistä. "Unelmieni JEF Europe on yhtenäinen, rohkea ja rakennettu kestämään. Kriisiaikoina tarvitsemme johtajuutta, johon voi luottaa – sillanrakentajaa, joka yhdistää ihmisiä ja vie meitä eteenpäin epävarmuudesta kohti yhteistä suuntaa. Olenkin erityisen ylpeä Eurooppanuorten tuesta visiolleni ja varapuheenjohtajakampanjalleni," kommentoi Nea-Maria Törmänen ehdokkuuttaan.

Eurooppanuorten liittohallitus päätti yksimielisesti tukea Törmäsen ehdokkuutta. Päätöstä puolsi hänen vahva järjestötaustansa, kirkas visio Euroopan tulevaisuudesta sekä vankka kokemus kansainvälisestä toiminnasta. Eurooppanuorten puheenjohtaja Nea-Bettina Baarman kommentoi liittohallituksen päätöstä: "Nea-Marian kampanja tuo JEF Europeen juuri sitä, mitä Eurooppa tänään tarvitsee: päämäärätietoista johtajuutta, joka rakentaa siltoja eikä muureja. Eurooppanuoret on ylpeä voidessaan tukea ehdokasta, joka yhdistää poliittisen ja järjestöllisen näkemyksellisyyden poikkeuksellisella tavalla."

JEF Finaland nominates Nea-Maria Törmänen as vice-president of JEF Europe (Young European Federalists). This is a significant moment, as for the first time in more than a decade the JEF Finland has its own candidate for the presidency of the JEF Europe board.

Nea-Maria Törmänen has been a member of the JEF Finaland International Working Group since 2019, a member of the Executive Board in 2023 and 2024, and Vice President of the organisation in 2024. During both years of her term in the Executive Board, she has been responsible for the organisation's international activities. Since November 2024, Törmänen has also been a co-opted member of the JEF Europe Federal Committee.

The political themes of Törmänen's campaign are human rights, climate and social justice. In terms of internal development, she will focus on promoting equality, financial stability and strategic organisational development. "My dream JEF Europe is united, bold and built to last. In times of crisis, we need leadership we can trust - a bridge builder to unite people and move us forward from uncertainty towards a common direction. I am therefore particularly proud of the support of the JEF Finland for my vision and my Vice-Presidential campaign", said Nea-Maria Törmänen, commenting on her candidacy.

JEF Finland’s Executive Board unanimously decided to support Törmänen's candidacy. The decision was based on her strong organisational background, her clear vision for the future of Europe and her solid experience in international activities. Nea-Bettina Baarman, President of the JEF Finland, commented: "Nea-Maria's campaign brings to JEF Europe exactly what Europe needs today: purposeful leadership that builds bridges, not walls. JEF Finland is proud to support a candidate who combines political and organisational vision in an exceptional way."
