JEF Finland will host an MEP panel on 19.4. at 17:00 on the topic of the LIFE programme. The panellists will be MEPs Ville Niinistö (Greens/EFA) and Nils Torvalds (Renew Europe).
LIFE is the EU’s funding programme for environmental and climate action, established in 1992.
As part of the negotiations on the new long-term budget for 2021-2027, the Parliament and the Council also decided on the reform of LIFE. MEP Nils Torvalds has represented the Parliament in these negotiations, and MEP Ville Niinistö the Greens group as shadow rapporteur.
LIFE is the only programme fully dedicated to developing environmental and climate solutions (work supporting environmental and climate goals is also funded through, for example, the structural funds). Since 1992 the programme has supported over 4500 different projects, including the development of environmental technologies.
