Welcome to JEF Finland’s statutory National Congress to influence and decide on the organisation’s activities and to elect the executive board officers for 2023! The National Congress will be held in Turku on 26.-27.11.2022. The venue is Pub3, Publicum, Assistentinkatu 7, 20014 University of Turku, 20500 Turku. The National Congress itself begins on Saturday 26.11. at 12:00, but registration starts already at 11:00. The National Congress ends on Sunday 27.11. by 18:00 at the latest. See the instructions for advance registration at the end of this invitation.
The National Congress will address the association’s statutory matters and the documents guiding its activities:
In addition to the statutory matters, the National Congress will discuss and approve JEF Finland’s political programme, the congress declaration and the equality programme
The congress materials will be published three weeks before the National Congress on JEF Finland’s website (by 4.11.2021).
JEF Finland’s individual members and member organisations may submit initiatives to the National Congress. Initiatives must be submitted no later than 12.11.2021. Initiatives are sent to the Secretary General by email ([email protected]).
For the documents to be approved at the congress, committees will convene on Saturday afternoon. The working groups will address the action plan and budget, the political programme and declaration, and the equality programme. The rest of the National Congress programme will be published by 4.11.
VOTING RIGHTS AT JEF FINLAND’S NATIONAL CONGRESS
Voting rights at the association’s statutory National Congress belong to individual members who have been accepted as members of JEF Finland no later than three (3) weeks before the National Congress (4.11.2022). If you are unsure about your membership, log in to your member account or contact the Secretary General at [email protected]. You can become a member via the membership form!
ADVANCE REGISTRATION AND PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS
Register for the National Congress via the following link: https://forms.gle/BuwMp92bC4ZMKGk87. Advance registration is open until Sunday 20.11.2022, but you can also still register on the day of the congress. However, those needing accommodation through JEF Finland must register by 6.11. JEF Finland does not reimburse accommodation booked independently.
JEF Finland reimburses members’ travel costs for attending the National Congress as follows. Without accommodation the excess for travel costs is 15€; with accommodation the excess is 30€. The excess is deducted when the participant claims travel reimbursements using the expense claim form, or it is invoiced. Excluding travel and accommodation costs, attending the National Congress is free of charge.
Travel costs are reimbursed according to the cheapest form of public transport, and the reimbursement cap is 50€. The reimbursement cap was added on 25.10 and does not apply to journeys purchased before that date.
RUNNING FOR JEF FINLAND’S EXECUTIVE BOARD?
The National Congress will elect JEF Finland’s chair, vice chairs and the other members of the executive board for the 2022 term. Every individual member of JEF Finland is entitled to apply for these positions! You can stand for the elected positions at the congress venue or by email: [email protected]. The election period is 10.10.-27.11. To receive visibility from JEF Finland, candidacies must be announced to the Secretary General no later than 31.10.2022. Send by email the position you are applying for, a photo of yourself and an introduction text.

The panel for presidency candidates will be held during the congress weekend in Turku, and the panel for executive board candidates on Tuesday 22.11. from 18:00 on Zoom.
